Accessibility Statement for Access Disability & Support Services.
Last updated: 19 October 2026
Access Disability & Support Services wants everyone to be able to use this website and to get information from us in a way that works for them.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. This is our target, not a claim of certification or full compliance.
The website has undergone automated accessibility testing and technical review. These checks cannot identify every accessibility barrier. We are also planning manual testing, including testing with a screen reader. We will continue to address problems as they are identified.
What we have done so far
- Plain English throughout, with short pages and clear headings.
- A "Skip to content" link on every page.
- A logical heading structure, so screen readers can move around each page.
- Menus, links and forms built to work with a keyboard.
- Text descriptions (alt text) written for meaningful images.
- Text and background colours chosen with contrast in mind.
- Pages that resize for phones and tablets, and that work when you zoom in.
- Forms with clear labels, linked error messages and simple choices. Personal or medical details are never required in a web form.
Known issues
We have not yet had the website independently audited, so there may be barriers we don't know about. Some PDF documents, such as our price guide or referral flyer, may not be fully accessible. If you need one of them in another format, please ask and we will send it to you.
Other ways to get our information
If something on this website doesn't work for you, we will find another way. We can:
- talk it through with you on the phone
- send information by email in plain text
- explain our key documents in plain, simple language
- provide information in large print
- help you fill in a form over the phone.
